Glendale , CA , United States

Perform all maintenance and repairs on the Network Radiology equipment with minimal technical assistance, including MRI and CT system. Have the ability to system troubleshoot and repair to the component level when possible. GE optimal but Siemens will do. The Specialist will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, factory approved field changes, safety modifications and service on the Radiology equipment.

REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of a BMET course, 2-year at a Jr. College level or above. Additional qualifying experience maybe substituted for the required education on a year to year basis. Completion of an advanced military electronics school maybe substituted for the two year of education. Has received military BioMed Radiology training in a formal BMET program and/or has completed factory training on the Radiology and Imaging equipment used by the Network and be willing to continue to receive education and factory training. Has advanced electronics experience and education. Has at least 12 years experience in the repair, maintenance, and calibration of Radiology equipment.

SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND GUIDELINES The BioMed Radiology Specialist is supervised by the Clinical Engineering Services Manager.

MAJOR DUTIES, PROCEDURES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes standard and advanced electronics test equipment and repair manuals to perform all maintenance and repairs on Radiology equipment and BioMed Equipment. Maintain all history logs and records on the equipment in question. Maintains, repairs, and calibrates CT scanners. Maintains, repairs, and calibrates MRI systems. As time and duties allow, will assist others within the department to complete their tasks and duties in a timely manner, be it the work of another BMET Specialist, a Senior BMET or that of an ET, or a BMET I as directed by the Clinical Engineering Services Manger. Will train department staff on Radiology Specialist. Order parts as needed following departmental policy.

PERSONAL REQUIRMENTS Clean, well groomed appearance, according to established standards of personal hygiene. Integrity, initiative, and ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT To demonstrate full knowledge and understanding of designated job description. Perform job duties accurately and completely with attention to detail. Function in accord with legal requirements including JCAHO, Title 22 and 24. Works in a manner flexible enough to allow appropriate assistance promptly and working with attention to priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL HAZARDS May be required to lift weights and carry equipment. Up to 35 pounds several time per day unassisted. May be exposed to disagreeable environmental conditions including dirt, infectious diseases, noise, heights, cramped working spaces and areas/tasks where caution must be exercised to ensure safety, many times on a daily bases.
